At Bityah we believe that the most valuable thing any society and culture has is its art. For this reason, we have committed to keeping alive the legacy of all those people who create with their own hands, since each handmade thing has its own history, essence and energy. For this reason, we make our candles by hand and collaborate with local artisans such as carpenters and potters. Beauty is found in imperfection.
OUR ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT
WAXES, OILS AND BASES
We use only high quality materials. The vegetable waxes we use are GMO-free and are obtained from the oil of the grains. It is biodegradable, renewable and environmentally friendly. All our products are free of paraffin which is a derivative of crude oil, a toxic and non-renewable resource. Several studies have shown that paraffin candles emit fumes that are toxic to humans and the planet when they burn.
OUR ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT
AROMAS
We opt for aromatic oils since working only with essential oils is an unsustainable practice in the long term. To obtain a small amount of essential oil, large quantities of the plant you want to use are needed. For example: 150 kg of lavender flowers are needed to get 1kg of essential oil. We use aromatic oils infused with essential oils. These meet all IFRA (International Fragrance Association) standards. They are not toxic for inhalation or burning. They are not tested on animals either. This is how we help preserve our planet.

WICKS
We use unbleached cotton wicks, rayon core cotton wicks waxed with soy wax, and untreated wooden wicks. They are wicks of plant and renewable origin so that their combustion is clean, without producing toxic fumes.

PACKAGING
We work with borosilicate glass, ceramic and cement containers. All of them are designed so that when the candle is finished they have a second useful life. Reuse it as many times as you want! All containers can be reused once cleaned.

PACKAGING AND SHIPPING
We avoid the use of plastics as much as possible both in our products and in shipping. We use packaging and protection systems for biodegradable materials such as corn, paper and cardboard, trying to make packaging and shipping as recycled and recyclable as possible. We believe that it is important to create as little waste as possible, which is why we reuse everything that comes to us from our suppliers.

We are committed to a sustainable business model. We collaborate with local suppliers to help our products have the least possible impact and thus continue to feed a network of local producers, artisans and businesses.
